Elemental Coffee Expands to the Oklahoma City Innovation District
Elemental Coffee, one of Oklahoma City’s most respected small-batch roasters, is opening a new café inside Innovation Hall, located in the heart of the Oklahoma City Innovation District. Planned soft openings are expected in early January, with a grand opening slated for January 14, 2026.

Founded in 2008 as Oklahoma’s first third-wave micro-roaster, Elemental Coffee has spent more than a decade shaping the city’s coffee culture. Their Midtown café on Hudson Avenue became an early landmark for community connection, first serving espresso drinks out of a garage door while the space was still under construction, later helping launch the iconic H&8th Night Market. From those roots, Elemental has grown into a statewide presence, supplying cafés, restaurants, and grocery stores, and opening a second location at Will Rogers World Airport in 2023.
As one of the first businesses in Midtown as it exists today, Elemental has remained closely tied to Oklahoma City’s growth.

At its core, Elemental has always been guided by a simple belief: Oklahoma City deserves exceptional coffee and a welcoming place to enjoy it. Their roastery sources, samples, imports, and roasts coffees with meticulous care, honoring the individuality of each origin. Their café menu reflects the same intention, locally sourced, universally accessible, and designed for all diets.
The Innovation District location continues that progression.
“We are thrilled to bring Elemental’s commitment to coffee and community to a new location at Innovation Hall, and to work collaboratively with the Innovation District and key partners in the area to adapt our approach to hospitality for a new hub. Our approach has always been collaborative, and we’re excited to work with partners who feel the same way.”
— Al Phillips-Shinn, Co-Owner, Elemental Coffee
As Innovation Hall becomes a daily hub for researchers, entrepreneurs, students, and community partners from across Oklahoma, Elemental’s presence offers a new anchor point for gathering, collaboration, and creativity. The café will serve the District’s daytime population, visitors attending events, and neighbors exploring the rapidly developing area around Northeast Oklahoma City.
The new location will feature a curated menu of Elemental’s small-batch coffees, espresso drinks, and the breakfast, lunch, and pastry offerings longtime customers have come to love, adapted for the pace and energy of Innovation Hall.
“Our hope is that when you walk into the cafe at Innovation Hall it will feel like an Elemental, but with a collaborative twist that makes sense for Innovation Hall and those who frequent the new location. We’re bringing over all the fan favorite coffee and tea drinks from our flagship location, and an updated food menu better suited to the new spot. Think all the things you love about Elemental’s menu: health conscious, hearty, and adaptable to many diets, adjusted to suit busy professionals and students on the run and those who want to linger a bit as well.” — Al Phillips-Shinn, Co-Owner, Elemental Coffee
Innovation District leadership views the partnership as a natural alignment between place, purpose, and people.
