Koey Keylon | BioTC

Koey is a native Oklahoman, born and raised in the Panhandle farming and ranching community of Texhoma. He earned his BS degree in Animal Science/Biotechnology as a graduate of Oklahoma State University. After college, Koey was able to maintain a 22-year career in biomanufacturing in the state of Oklahoma. He started his biomanufacturing career in 1999 at CP Kelco, a commercial biogums plant in Okmulgee. After making the move to the OKC area, he was one of the initial Quality Assurance hires for the biotech start-up Novazyme Pharmaceuticals Inc. (later acquired by Genzyme Corporation).  He then held multiple Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Production roles with the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI). After OBI, Koey was one of the initial hires for the contract and development manufacturing organization, Cytovance Biologics, where he held leadership roles in their Quality Assurance and Manufacturing departments. Most recently, he has spent the past two years establishing the initial Quality Management Systems and managing QA Operations for the Catalent Cell and Gene Therapy site in Houston, Texas. Koey is excited to be back in the state and giving back to a state, a city and a growing industry that helped shape his career.
