The rapid growth of artificial intelligence is creating a new era of opportunity and demand across the energy industry, and Oklahoma is uniquely positioned at the center of that conversation.

Join the Oklahoma City Innovation District, the Hamm Institute for American Energy, and the Oklahoma Technology Alliance for Tech Talk: Oklahoma Energy for AI, an in-depth panel discussion exploring how energy infrastructure, emerging technologies, and innovation ecosystems are evolving together to support the future of AI.

As artificial intelligence continues to expand across industries, questions surrounding power generation, grid reliability, sustainability, data infrastructure, workforce development, and technological advancement are becoming more important than ever. This conversation will bring together leaders from across energy, technology, government, and innovation to discuss how Oklahoma is helping shape the future of energy in an AI-driven world.

The panel features a diverse group of executives, policymakers, and innovators leading transformation across the sector:

• Katie Altshuler, Deputy Executive Director of the Hamm Institute for American Energy at Oklahoma State University, will moderate the discussion and provide insight into the broader national energy landscape.

• Joe Wempe, Senior IT Manager at Devon Energy, will share perspectives on AI adoption, operational technology, and emerging digital transformation initiatives inside one of Oklahoma’s leading energy companies.

• Joe Davis, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Continental Resources, brings decades of experience aligning technology strategy, enterprise systems, and innovation within the energy industry.

• Rob Klenner, President of GreenFire Energy, will discuss geothermal advancement, sustainable energy technologies, and the evolving role of alternative energy solutions in meeting future demand.

• Chris Schinnerer, Oklahoma Deputy Secretary for Energy and Environment, offers expertise spanning public policy, finance, environmental strategy, and federal government experience, including work connected to the White House and national energy initiatives.

• Devon Fanfair, representing Tulsa Innovation Labs and Rose Rock Bridge, will speak on Oklahoma’s growing innovation economy and the acceleration of breakthrough technologies shaping the future of energy and infrastructure.

This event is designed for professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, policymakers, and community members interested in understanding how Oklahoma’s energy expertise intersects with the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.

From traditional energy leadership to emerging innovation ecosystems, Oklahoma continues to demonstrate how collaboration between industry, research, government, and startups can drive meaningful progress. Tech Talk: Oklahoma Energy for AI aims to create space for those conversations while highlighting the people and organizations helping lead that work forward.

The event will take place Thursday, May 21 at Innovation Hall in the Oklahoma City Innovation District.
