Peyton Walter

Peyton Walter serves as the Programs Manager for the Oklahoma City Innovation District, where she leads initiatives that connect innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development across the city. A graduate of Langston University with dual degrees in Organizational Leadership and Business Management, Peyton is a passionate, community-driven leader devoted to building connections and sustainable solutions that foster growth and innovation.

She is the co-founder of Lion’s Mane Beauty Supply, the first brick-and-mortar beauty retailer to serve Langston University—closing a 40-mile gap in Black haircare access. Founded while in college and successfully exited in 2025, Lion’s Mane achieved over 150% year-over-year growth and became a model for student-led innovation and empowerment.

Before joining OKCID, Peyton coordinated programs and marketing for The Verge OKC, where she strengthened Oklahoma’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through expanded partnerships, workshops, and founder support opportunities. She is excited to continue building impactful programs that enhance connectivity, collaboration, and innovation across OKC’s Innovation District and beyond.
